They keep asking
and pleading and
bothering
with questions and
concepts
and ideas and
questions
And all I can say,
is twenty-six pages
and half a month in
or a month
or time doesn’t matter at this point
that it’s good
You hear?
It’s good, going well
don’t worry, I haven’t failed
yet.
But it’s coming
and there’s twenty six pages
26 pages
and there are some paragraphs
some good parts
wonderful writing
for a kid.
So stop asking,
it’s going fine,
I haven’t failed yet,
I haven’t burned it yet...
and no, you aren’t in the book
nor will you know your character’s name
you haven’t got a name
I wonder if you’ve got a name now
I haven’t any idea
why you’re in the story
of life
let alone
my book
